Ingredients
For Salisbury Steak:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder

- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
For Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Salisbury Steak:
- Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Shape the mixture into 4-6 patties and brown both sides in a skillet over medium heat. Transfer them to the slow cooker.
- In the same skillet, cook sliced onion until soft. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then bring to a simmer.
- Pour the sauce over the patties in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 5-6 hours.
- To thicken the sauce, mix cornstarch and water into a slurry and stir into the slow cooker for the last 30 minutes.
Mashed Potatoes:
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.
- Drain, then mash with milk and butter. Season with salt and pepper.
